Dragon Forum workshops presentation in Ukraine.

On January 20, the „Dom Kina”" („Cinema House”) in Kiev hosted a presentation of Dragon Forum workshop, whose next session will take place within the Festival Docudays.ua, Ukraine, in the last days of March.

Over 200 people gathered for the presentation, during which we tried to show what projects are likely to have an international production potential, and talked about how to prepare projects to participate in workshops.

The purpose of the presentation was not only to promote the idea of international co-productions, but also to initiate the emergence of new ideas and projects of documentary films in Ukraine.

Shared his experiences, among others, the young director and producer Valentin Vasyanovich. His project was developped within the framework of Ukrainian workshop in 2007, then participated in the Dragon Forum and, as a result, the film "My Mom died on Saturday in the Kitchen" (working title: "Philharmonic"), produced in co-production with YLE and SVT, has received several awards at international film festival "Molodist 2009".

Expected from the very beginning screening of Vasyanovich’s film ended the presentation.

We look forward to new projects, think about how to aquire local TV channels representatives’ involvement in Ukrainian Dragon Forum as well as invite Ukrainian and Russian documentalists as experts and we hope to expand our circle of participants to people from neighboring countries.
