Call for entries to the 9th International Film Festival WATCH DOCS. Human Rights in Film is open. WATCH DOCS, organized by the Helsinki Foundation for Human Rights, Centre for Contemporary Art Ujazdowski Castle in Warsaw and the Social Institute of Film, is one of the world’s biggest human rights film festivals.
Programme details will be announced in autumn. Apart from the competition composed of human rights related documentaries produced in 2008 and 2009, out of competition sections of WATCH DOCS include: ‘discrete charm of propaganda’, ‘new Polish films’ and ‘close ups’ (this year devoted to the post-soviet universe) and various other retrospectives. Festival is rich in side events: panel discussions, workshops, debates, etc. This year WATCH DOCS starts on December 4th. The deadline for the entries (documentaries only) is September 7, 2009.
