Polish-German Documentary Film Co-production Workshop

(2009-05-12)

On 9 and 10 May, the first Polish-German Documentary Film Co-production Workshop were held in Warsaw.

The organisers, Goethe-Institut in Warsaw, Planete Doc Review, AG DOK, German Films and Dragon Forum can proudly announce the success of that meeting. The partners of the undertaking were: Polish Film Institute and MEDIA Desk Poland.

The workshop were attended by numerous film-makers and film-experts across Germany and Poland, as well as from Warsaw.

The participants highly valued the possibility of face-to-face contacts with documentary film professionals. Especially popular was a panel discussion presenting the possibilities of co-production co-operation between Poland and Germany, and German funds supporting documentary production.

The predictions of the initiators and organisers that the joint workshops would lead to the flow of expert knowledge, the exchange of experience and meetings between business professionals and would be popular among Germans and Poles alike were proved to be well founded.

Workshops summary:

In the workshops there were 14 participants from Germany and 38 from Poland. They all answered the previously announced call to send applications, which often included descriptions of particular film projects.
In addition, we had a pleasure of 15 special guests from Germany and Poland. There were also 11 observers from the Polish side.
