    The film is about the almost mysterious relationship between two sisters, the unusual ‘dimension’ in which they live and the power of family secret.

  2. Africa, do you remember?, 52’, PL

    Have you ever seen somebody traveling across Africa with a trombone? Two professional jazz players in their fifties Jorgos Skolias and Bronek Duży are going to play on the “Festival on the Desert” in Mali. For 20 years they play about Africa, but have never been there. The performance is a tribute to freedom and equality of rights.

  3. Alija Jakuba / Jacob’s Aliyah, 52’, PL

    The protagonist of the film is Jakub Weksler-Waszkinel, who is a Jew and a Catholic priest at the same time. As a Jew he makes a decision to immigrate to Israel, but precisely because he is a priest the Israeli law does not allow it. Will Jacob nevertheless succeed to fulfill his dream?

    Who destroyed the Soviet Union? Jeans and rock music, says Vaclav Havel. We say that it was the Lithuanian rock band Antis - a New Year carnival that turned into the Singing Revolution. And this version looks so real that the Soviet Union after watching this film would collapse once again.

    The political unrest that took place in 1980 by the “Solidarity” movement created the possibility of a future dialogue between the people and the ruling Communist Party. As usual, many students joined the “rebellion and protests” for the autonomy of the student body within Polish Universities and their own representation and sovereignty without the supervision of the Party.

    It is the history of a woman - Pole and a man - German, who happened to be aboard of the death ship „Wilhelm Gustloff” but did not know about each other. They survived the catastrophy which stigmatized their lives. It is the film underlining the fact, that a war kills and destroys all people, no matter which side of the war conflict they are.

    200 years after Chopin’s birth Marita Alban Juarez, half Polish, half Peruvian, explores the composers’ legacy in his native Poland and abroad. In a personal quest she discovers the music that inspired Chopin - still an inspiration to many today. People’s views of Chopin - his music and life - are the heart of this film.

    Professor Edvard Holnthaner after forty years of teaching at the Academy of Jazz in Graz, Austria, is ending his working period. He’s travelling to Amsterdam, Berlin, Warsaw, Prague and Graz and he selects five musicians. All five musicians are invited to his city - Maribor, where they are playing in the street.

    A vivid portrait of one of the most exceptional politicians of Europe: Edi Rama. The film accompanies Rama and his young, energetic team during the electoral campaign, the days before and after election day, and during his first hundred days as the new President of Albania.

    The story occurs inside Yevgeny’s divided world, a former Russian Israeli. Between the bland Moscow routine and imaginary military fame, between the dissipated Zionist dream and his reappearance as a battle hero in a game that reenacts the Israeli army. This is a journey that combines simulation and reality and raises questions as to identity and nationality.

    In Polish community in Cacica “Every year two children born, there are two weddings and fifteen funerals" says the film’s narrator Michał Cechaniuc. Through his eyes we see the dying two hundred year old Polish village in Romania. A descendant of Cacica founders he has one dream - to keep the village alive.

    This is a story of a girl from Burma. She used to live as a tourist attraction, wear a very heavy brass coil on her neck and take photos with tourists. She wanted to change her life. So she took her coil off and started to study and build her own independent village. She must have escaped because her decision might have cost her life. Now she is living in the constant fear.

    We fence ouerselves off them, we look at them with suspicion:”They are not quite like us - they are different, they are not worth us…” But what are they like in reality, these neighbours, who speak another language, belive in another god? We need to close in and take a more careful look at their lives. And so, perhaps, we’ll understand who we are.

  14. Terrorysta / The Terrorist, 52’, PL

    The film “Terrorist” is a quest for on answer to a question: “Where is Shamil Basayev?” - one of the biggest terrorists of the XX and XXI century. Till today not a single irrefutable evidence has been found to prove his death. Basayev will be searched for by a man, whose whole life has been unwittingly changed by the friendship with the commander and who is still haunted by the puzzle of his alleged death.

    One man trying to make himself heard, starts a hunger strike and is left dying while being under the watch of the society: a journalist, trying to find more about this limit case gets a complex answer about the human aspect of the story.

    From where do the children appear? Last time they are very seldom brought by a stork or found in the cabbage. Тhere are garbage containers, steps of hospitals , the bags left in the underground, the Internet shops with the announcements of the pregnant mothers about the sale of their babies. 130 000 of Ukrainian children have the status of the orphan at live parents.

    More than 3000 monuments to Lenin still remain In Eastern Europe and former USSR. Each second of them points out somewhere by his hand, his finger, or his cap. Scientists developed hypothesis, that some of the monuments to Lenin in Russia and Europe form the secret Lenin code.

    It is the story of relations between two contradictive persons - forty five year old racketeer Uncle Seresha and 200 kilos young man Kolya. Both of them are tired of their lives and looking for the way to change. Watching comic and tragic relations between the characters, we can see how these two men from opposite worlds transform each other to fulfill their dreams.
