On 5th February died Katarzyna Maciejko-Kowalczyk. She was distinguished editor and author of documentary films.

She was permanent co-worker i.a. of Marcel Łoziński. She edited most of his films: “The test of microphone”, “The workshop’s exercises”, “89 mm from the Europe”, “Everything could happens”, “How to do it?”, “If it happens”.

She had edited also documentary films of Vita Żelakeviciute, Maciej Drygas, Jacek Petrycki and a lot of other excellent documentary filmmakers, including “Workers’ 80” directed by Andrzej Chodakowski and Andrzej Zajączkowski. She had edited all together more than 80 documentary films and two features: “The party by candlelight” directed by Antoni Krauze and famous “Interrogation” by Ryszard Bugajski.

Katarzyna Maciejko-Kowalczyk was also the author of documentary films. One of them, “Benek Blues” was awarded Grand Prix in Home and International contest of The Krakow Film Festival.

Together with Marcel Łoziński and Jacek Bławut she leaded documentary workshops in Andrzej Wajda Master School of Film Directing and international workshops Dragon Forum. She has already educated numerous young filmmakers.

She remains in our hearts, we will continue her work.
