Dragon Forum 2010
Dragon Forum is an annual documentary film workshop - in the middle of Europe - giving advice on the development and production of documentary films for international audiences, complemented with a pitching at the Krakow Film Festival.The participants have the opportunity to develop their film projects under the tutelage of documentary film experts. They will also receive the Dragon Forum diplomas of completion. We have prepared awards for the best projects.
Among the lecturers of the Dragon Forum there are Polish and international experts, such as: Jacek Bławut PL, Carmen Cobos SP, Heino Deckert DE, Marcel Łoziński PL, Paweł Pitera PL, Dorota Roszkowska PL, Steven Seidenberg UK, Rada Šešiċ NL, Maria Zmarz-Koczanowicz PL, Vita Żelakeviciute LT, Peter Wintonick CA, Marc Lorber U.S.A. This team of directors, producers, experts and educators have already helped many European documentary filmmakers to achieve their artistic goals.
Among the films which have been produced so far in cooperation with the Dragon Forum, there are: 'Gugara' directed by Andrzej Dybczak, Jacek Nagłowski, PL/ UK, 2008 , 'Robinsons of Mantsinsaari' by Victor Asliuk DE/BY 2008, 'Kruzenshtern' by Maciej Cuske PL/FR/FIN 2009, 'Królik po berlińsku [Rabbit a la Berlin]' by Bartek Konopka, DE/PL/BE/FIN, 'Mama umerła w sobotu na kuchne... [Mum Died on Saturday in the Kitchen...' by Maxym Vasyanovych UA/FIN/SV 2010, 2009, 'Efekt Chopina [Chopin Reloaded]' by Krzysztof Dzięciołowski, PL 2010, 'The Pusker Sisters' by Ágnes Sós, HU 2010.
The documentary film commissioning editors and producers from the best TV stations and film institutions come to the pitching in Krakow in search of new projects. Among those who will be present at the Manggha Centre of Japanese Art on 3-4 June, there are: Hans Robert Eisenhauer (ARTE ZDF), Peter Wintonick (IDFA), Cynthia Kane (ITVS), Grażyna Bukowska (TVN Historia), Anne Baumann (ARTE), Katja Wildermuth (MDR), Marc Lorber (HBO).
The conference to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Krakow Film Festival and the 5th anniversary of the Dragon Forum organised in cooperation with the Documentary Campus will be held between 5-6 June in the Manggha Centre of Japanese Art, Krakow. The conference is entitled 'VIRTUALLY YOURS!' and will be devoted to the digital storytelling & promotion.
The participants receive diplomas of completion of the Dragon Forum, for the best projects we foresee the awards.
